Social Hackademy #HackAD

Empowering Youth Through Digital Innovation

21st Century Innovations brings expertise from the Social Hackademy #HackAD project, a 24-month ERASMUS+ initiative (2020–2022) that empowered disadvantaged youth across Europe through digital skills and innovative technology solutions.

The Challenge

Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds often lack access to digital skills needed for modern careers. The #HackAD project tackled this by creating collaborative learning experiences that turned social challenges into opportunities for digital innovation.

Our Connection

Our team brings direct experience from this project through Eleftherios Lazarinis, who contributed his Computer Science and Robotics expertise to the implementation of Social Hackademy Labs and training programs in Greece, working alongside the Hellenic Open University.

Impact Achieved

  • 272 young people trained in app development, web design, and graphic design
  • Social Hackademy Labs established across 4 countries
  • 18 digital solutions created to address local challenges aligned with UN SDGs
  • Innovative methodology developed for trainers working with at-risk youth

European Partnership

The project brought together leading organizations from Belgium, Italy, Croatia, and France, including ALL DIGITAL, Hellenic Open University, and European Grants International Academy, demonstrating the power of cross-border cooperation in social innovation.
